ქართული ენის იდიომებისა და ანდაზების ფონდების მონაცემთა ბაზა (ინგლისური, გერმანული, ფრანგული, რუსული, თურქული და არაბული ეკვივალენტებით), რომელიც შესრულდა შოთა რუსთაველის სამეცნიერო ფონდის დახმარებით, ითვალისწინებს რამდენიმე განსხვავებული კულტურის: აღმოსავლური (თურქული და არაბული), დასავლეთევროპული (ინგლისური, ფრანგული და გერმანული), რუსული ენების იდიომებისა და ანდაზების ფონდების მონაცემებთან შედარება–შეპირისპირებით, ქართული ენის იდიომებისა და ანდაზების ფონდების ელექტრონული ბაზის შექმნას; დასახელებული ენების იდიომებისა და ანდაზების ენათაშორისი ეკვივალენტობისა და მათი კულტუროლოგიური ასპექტების წარმოჩენას.
იმედი გვაქვს, პროექტის პროდუქტი ჯეროვან წვლილს შეიტანს ამ სფეროში ქართული ეთნოკულტურის ნიმუშების საერთაშორისო სარბიელზე გატანაში. გარდა ამისა, ქართული იდიომებისა და ანდაზების ფონდების შედარება რადიკალურად განსხვავებული კულტურის მონაცემებთან პრაქტიკულად ხელს შეუწყობს, ერთი მხრივ, ქართული ეთნიკური იდენტურობის განსაზღვრას საერთაშორისო დონეზე (ამის შედეგად საკუთარი ადგილის მოპოვებას მსოფლიო კულტურის ფონდში), და, მეორე მხრივ, სხვა კულტურათა გაცნობის საფუძველზე, ჩვენი ენობრივი თვალსაწიერის გაფართოებას და ეროვნულ ჩარჩოში მოქცევით მის შემდგომ განვითარებას.

The database of Georgian idioms and proverbs (with their English, Russian, German, French, Turkish and Arabic equivalents), supported by Rustaveli foundation, presents idioms and proverbs coming from several, different cultures and languages : Russian, Oriental ( Turkish and Arabic) and Western-European ( English, German and French) and compares and contrasts them to Georgian idioms and proverbs. The database includes full and partial idiomatic and proverb equivalents on interlanguage and cross-language planes.
We hope that this database will be found useful by linguists as well as the members of public interested in the issues of phraseology, paremiology, translation theory, ethonology, ethnogaphy and cultural studies; In addition to this, it will facilitate contrasting and comparison of Georgian cultural heritage of this stock to those of other cultures. This will be particularly important for the facilitation of the process of incorporation of the Georgian culture into the world’s cultural heritage by introducing its idioms and proverbs to the international society. As well as this, the database also introduces the idioms and proverbs belonging to other cultures ( English, German, French, Russian, Turkish and Arabic) to the Georgian society.
